Trail Planning / Design
Trail Planning and Design are the primary steps we use in establishing a premier trail system. One of our goals as a professional trailbuilder is to guide the trail users through the environment enhancing their experience while protecting the local ecosystems.
We make good use of our in house GPS/GIS equipment and software to provide the data required by our construction crews. To collect data and record the trail tread alignment our GIS department uses a Trimble GeoXT data collected, often times with an accuracy to less that one meter. The data is then analyzed in the ACRview software to produce an invaluable representation of the site conditions found in the study area.
Existing trail assessments require in-depth analysis of the data representing the existing conditions. This assessment process is vital in order to adequately categorize a trail for it's maintenance, difficulty level, and liability impact on the landowner's overall trails strategy. Our trained crews using our state of the art equipment ensure professional results.
Coupled with this thorough data collection is our extensive experience in trail design and construction, that translates into developing a trail plan providing minimal - erosion, -impact on the environment, - liability to the landowner and maximizing the trail user's experience.
In order to guide trail users away from sensitive areas we have collected and mapped data on endangered species. This is an important step in our trail master planning process.
